red dot is where we are at with our emission addiction, X marks the spot where we should be right now. Vertical line marks 2045 climate neutrality., that would require immediate action from everyone.

Still doesn't look like a path to zero to me, we should replace this leadership.

The rope tightens around our necks. At first, our heads could still fit through easily. Before that, the noose could only be seen from a distance, but everyone knew it was there. What is next?

Concrete is not T.I.N.A. (there is no alternative)
Stone-timber floor demonstration in London.
The alternatives to anthropocene construction are popping up everywhere now.

Found this little straw house model in the workshop.

One of my favorite #strawbuilding papers is about this simple test, because there is this urban myth about #strawhouse = pests (!sic).
Straw + termites are put in a bottle. What happens? They will starve because there are not enough nutrients.

I have a request: please keep the paths clean.
It never used to matter to me too much, but I couldn't walk for almost the entire last year because of a broken foot. Every obstacle was a problem. So if you want to see more people on the streets again; not just in cars, you know what to do.

It's still a lot of work today, there is a saying that guys doing plaster need a good sense of humor.

I'm surprised that this isn't already standard practice in Europe. Bricks out -> hempcrete in (easy hemp+lime mix).

You gotta love this rehab project and the straw mat manufacturing. This is the definition of a green business.

Wood, straw, earth - that's basically all you need for passive house walls, floor, roof. The apprentice wanted to use his bare hands to get the feeling. The earth plaster creates airtightness necessary for high performance, without plastic membranes. #strawhouse #strawbuilding #biobased

If you are unsure just look around for workshops in your area. #Earthbuilding will be one the key transformative technologies of a good future.

More sand, less cracks. Some cracks are OK, you dont want sand plaster and probably want to reinforce the plaster anyway.
Of course, you can make bricks, rammed earth, cob with the same material.
There is no magic ratio, it can be 1 to 0 to 1 to 6.

I DO want to repost your construction transformation related posts if I see them. There are simple ways to trigger that, I can't follow everyone, but I will follow you if you post about the good stuff (my definition applies) in architecture, craft, planning...
The other way is to mention me. Thanks!

BTW we rescued her and one sibling from the death row in Spain a few years ago, both are more or less on a vegan diet (don't tell them).

We have a new carpet made of 🥥 fibers. When we bought the 300-year-old house, there was already a similar one in the attic. I even used it to rescue a tractor with spinning wheels from the mud, it remained intact. I believe there can be good global trade besides what we experience at the moment.

Let's fall back to wood, straw and mud huts, passive.

This is how we convert building professionals towards regenerative building. By showing how it's done, by self-learning, by offering experience with materials from the whole history of mankind, not just high-tech from one short experimental period.
