It's critical for everyone to remember what an Executive Order is. It is the President communicating orders to members of the executive branch. Policies to pursue, actions to take, etc. They are not laws. They are not close to being laws. They are formalized memos to employees. That's all.

This was one of the first tweets I had go "viral" on Screenwriting Twitter many years ago. Here's hoping there will be more writers' rooms opening in 2025 for it to come handy again! 🤞🏼

Sometime it's the timing, not the idea. Play to your strength, but you have to evolve. Find other/grow strengths. Once you put the show first, you stop thinking about yourself. Don't work from a scared place. Work twice as hard. Do your homework. Be positive. Don't join in on the snarkiness. Keep track of the changes. Then apply on the board. Be open to change. Let things go. Staff superpower: see the story from a completely different way. Don't get hung up on the details. Think about the filmmaking. Always have solutions. Don't be scared to ask for advice. Do you homework: study the showrunner. At the least, your script should LOOK right. Modulate your notes on scripts. Focus on the small ones. It's not your job to fix the big stuff [as the staff writer].
