I wanted to see what #Godot 's support for (pirate) translations was like for @maygame.bsky.social. Thankfully it wasn't too difficult to add basic support for.

Naturally, I'll handle any pirate translations myself. 🙃

I was curious too - looks like this

I'm loving #TacticsOgre (PS1) so far. 3/4 of the way done. Game is a masterpiece. ❤️

The music, for one, is epic. Even the title screen is a banger. THIS is how you start a game right. #ps1 #gaming

(it starts softly - wait for the strings and chorus to drop!...)

These are my top 25 favorite video games!

(y'know...more or less...close enough... 😁)

Grew up mostly on Nintendo games but branched out a lot in recent years. Lots of different genres in here. ^^

Work on the fishing minigame for #MayGame has begun.

Very much still in the experimentation stage. But I think a side-scroller is the direction to go. Gameplay will be focused more on navigating the depths rather than a tug-of-war/timing game.

#Spiritfarer is a beautiful game, but it deserves props for its co-op mode too.

It's a 2D platformer where both players share the screen. But can simultaneously talk to different NPCs, use different menus, play different minigames.

Neither player gets stuck waiting for the other.

It isn't surprising to see Steam games automatically appear on other sites' databases - I'm sure they're all using Steam's API.

That said...

As someone who used to use GameFAQs all the time, it's pretty cool to see my upcoming game get its own page there. ^^

I've heard that #TacticsOgre is a really good epic game, hence why I've saved it for a special occasion.

Finally putting up a Steam store page is such an occasion. 🙂

First time I'm using my PS3 to play a #ps1 disc. Funny since that feature is a big reason I bought it years ago. 😅 #gaming

The Steam page for @maygame.bsky.social goes up tomorrow.

Taking it easy this evening. Sitting and thinking. Maybe watch some Star Trek or other creative videos. 😌

Tomorrow will be a busy and exciting day. 🙌

A game you thought you wouldn't like, but ended up loving.
#MegaManX

Mega Man X did something smart that helped make its difficulty more bearable: It integrated it into the plot. You're supposed to feel helpless. At first. Which helps make your eventual triumph that much more rewarding.

It's not just me, right? 😅

The more "finished" my game becomes, the more tempted I am to admire and enjoy the finished parts, when I really should be working on the rest of the game. #gamedev #indiedev

Favorite Game Developer
Nintendo (*with caveats)

I've played more Nintendo games than any other developer, especially growing up. And I am a huge fan of their "gameplay first" design philosophy.

*As for their non-developer staff... I am not a fan of their frequent anti-consumer decisions. 😞

This thought has been nagging me lately. 😅 Standing out in a sea of thousands, dealing with first impressions, and no do-overs, makes for a nerve-wracking combination. 🫠

If we flip the meme around though...

Every improvement = More people will play your game. ☺️

Most epic scene ever.
Escaping the ranch in #OcarinaOfTime

Dead serious.

Figuring out a unique situational puzzle on your own, while absolutely dunking on a minor villain in the process, and being treated to an epic cutscene, and being rewarded with a horse, feels friggin great.

This past week, I finished up a trailer for #MayGame and showed it to a few people for initial feedback.

I liked the trailer. 100% gameplay. Thought it had a great mix of environments, activities, hooks. But people pointed out it had one major flaw...

Here's a look at the old cave gfx scratchpads for #MayGame - they're basically time capsules. Numerous attempts at creating nice-looking cave graphics. New attempts started wherever there was still space, and built off the ones that came before...

Best voice acting.
#Uncharted: Drake's Fortune

So, growing up with a Nintendo background, I actually haven't played too many games with full voice acting...

But I did play the first Uncharted. And damn, the voice acting was really good. Really felt like playing a treasure-hunter movie.

A game you plan on playing.
#Xenogears

I started this game years ago but never finished. It's such an epic, and I've heard so much praise for it. Music, story, characters, giant mechs... I hope to restart and finish it one day, to treat myself for a special occasion. ^^

Favorite classic game.
Mother 3, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance

2 games! Just had to cheat. #Mother3 is a truly unique RPG, and there's nothing else like it. #FFTA is an great tactical RPG whose job system has lots of replay value, whose underrated story subverts the friend-stick-together trope.
