TBH I think it's hard to overstate the gap between the assumed guard rails and reality.

Hey Laurie, Democrats were not onboard with an Act that ignores Constitutional due process under the guise of saving one photogenic woman. But nobody seems to care about our laws anymore, just political expedience.

I live in a red congressional district with a lot of Title I schools. The voters here probably don’t have a clue about USAID. They may not even know who to blame when the DOE cuts hit them. The administration is taking advantage of a lack of civic education and isolationist mindsets.

I don't think it works that way in the real world. Isn't Hamas still in possession of Gaza? If anyone would "take" Gaza wouldn't it be Israel? Is Netanyahu in a position to just "give" it to Trump as a spoil of war & how do Israeli's or all the other surrounding Arab countries feel about that?
