Revised: Andy is still gov and Mitch is definitely not running, but I’ve left the bluegrass for bluer AND greener pastures. Former vet nurse, until those darling goldens got too heavy to “anesthetized” lift (we try to avoid the term “dead” lift).
Teddy, adopted in 2015, felled too soon in 2019. Thanks for spending golden, quality time with me, handsome man.

The White House is decorated at Christmas by a veritable army of volunteers, who must apply for the opportunity. Methinks there will be an even greater outpouring of volunteers who’ll be happy to help take down the monstrous “donor extravaganza (ball)room rising out of this destruction.

Pretty calm and peaceful in war-torn Portland today. Except for the sounds of some unusual aircraft. Have they arrived?

Always enjoyed reading the Mog series with my kiddos, but never knew the “moggy” reference. Thanks for prompting a happy memory to start off the morning.

THE most explicit scenic overlook sign I’ve ever seen. “Many dogs have died here. Put your dog back in the vehicle.”

It’s almost like they don’t trust us to be careful. Probably because we’re not to be trusted not to do something stupid. #Oregon Humane Society Tactical Rescue Team.

The late, great Willow (therapy dog extraordinaire…but aren’t they all) and my current love, “Cooper.” Thanks, Matt, for highlighting a source of joy for many of us.

This our Willow the service dog. She visited hospitals and schools and senior citizen centers until the pandemic ended such things. Lost her to osteosarcoma in 2022.

I’ve decided this delight should be my next home…no bathroom, but there are workarounds.

Just checked in here today, to see if you’d tell me, please, how you prepare the roasties; I’d like to make a batch for this old man. Now I see the news about C.B., so it’s a much sadder day, but hank you for giving him five glorious years.

But some of the traditions still speak to me, and today is Oaks day at Churchill Downs: fillies day, day of pink (day of $ for breast cancer research). Here is the blanket of lillies created and sewn together for the winner, before it’s driven over to Churchill Downs.

Someday I hope to be there when the elk wander down to the beach. Cooper and Willow think it’s fine any day.

The youthful favs of my daughter and myself. Welcome from Little Luv (he was particular about the spelling) and Breeze.

Teddy was languishing in the shelter, while his described “miscreant behavior” from his surrendering person turned out to have resulted from the torment of a severe flea infestation.

Cooper would have loved the festivities.
