A Government of cowards.

Rather than tackle inequality - they've gone for pensioners, disabled people and now it's people fleeing war and persecution.

They can't get away with this.

Our country is in crisis. Bills are too high. People are being forced to live in mouldy, unaffordable homes. One in three kids is living in poverty.

The budget is this government's chance to turn things around: it's time to cut bills and tax billionaires.
At the Budget, the Green Party's message is clear: Cut Bills. Tax Billionaires.

"It is fair to say that, but for the most robust Labour Party supporters, the arrival of Keir Starmer’s government has been an exasperating disappointment.

All over social media, Labour voters are threatening to put their cross elsewhere; but where?"

Labour MPs speak up against the govt for treating vulnerable people as criminals.

Govt to 24/7 snoop on the bank accounts of all benefit claimants. Take money without court order, no right of appeal.

The same won't apply to tax dodgers, money launderers, scammers, other recipients of public money.
Should benefit claimants risk having their bank accounts spied upon and driving licences revoked? I don’t think so | Neil Duncan-Jordan
MPs like me are horrified by proposals to treat vulnerable people as suspects simply because they need state support, says Neil Duncan-Jordan, the Labour MP for Poole

The more I see of this Labour government, from disability welfare cuts, to keeping the two child benefit cap, to its transphobic, anti-immigrant, and pro-hard Brexit stances, the more I hate it.

This isn’t a progressive government. It’s a Tory tribute act with a reddish hue. Labour isn’t working! 🥀

Even the OBR has admitted past disability benefit reforms (like the move from DLA to PIP) didn’t save what was promised. And Universal Credit delays dragged on for years. But still—they press ahead though we are gaining real momentum against these deadly
Cuts.

People in North of England and Wales would be the hardest hit by disability benefit cuts.

They will suffer three times the economic impact and with twice as many affected residents as London and the south-east.

Deprived areas have more people with disabilities.

No impact assessment from govt.
Wales and north of England face disability cuts ‘double whammy’

The public sees #DisabilityBenefits reforms as harsh. Even Labour voters are turning:

– 44% say the reforms are too harsh
– 42% of Labour voters agree
– Just 16% say it built trust in Labour’s fiscal plans

This isn’t strength. It’s cruelty.
