Trump may well achieve his goal of reducing the US trade deficit, but via the worst possible way: engineering recession at home and removing America’s and USD’s status as trusted safe haven. It would be a poorer, hostile nation but with trade surplus. Sort of like Russia. Some win.

I'm 18. The economy enters a once-in-a-century recession. A Republican president is responsible.

I'm 29. There is once-in-a-century pandemic that leads to a once-in-century-recession. A Republican is responsible.

I'm 35. Tarriffs trigger a once-in-a-century recession. A Republican is responsible.

Indeed, the Constitution gives Congress the power “to regulate commerce with foreign nations, among states, and with the Indian tribes.” That's trade!
I feel compelled to point out -- no laughing please! -- that Congress could put a stop to this tariff nonsense.

the speed at which these guys have broken everything has given a lot of folks who should know better the impression that they are an unstoppable force and the only option is to negotiate the terms of surrender

just because the clown car goes very fast does not mean it isn’t full of clowns
Whatever the immediate fallout of the scandal, what is going to stick around is the impression it gives, of hapless idiots doing ridiculous things. And I think that seriously reduces the appeal of capitulating to these jokers.

Anyone in the SC General Assembly who promotes book bans and erases history must be voted out in 2026.

Use your voice and your power to vote in every election.

I think now would be a good time for some more movies that are primarily about killing Nazis.

Would appreciate.

It is a relief to know that our ancestors were worriers — awake in the darkness with crowded minds. Their worry is why we’re here.
Word of the Day is ‘uhtcearu’ [ucht-kay-aru, with the 'ch' as in the Scottish ‘loch']:

Old English for ‘the sorrow before dawn', when you lie awake in the darkness and worries crowd your mind.

I do feel like we forget that a mere 100 years ago 20% of children in America just fucking died.

So considering the recent evolution of social media, has anybody considered starting a new social media site and calling it "twitter"? Posts could be called "tweets". Seems like that's not taken, idk

It's 2025 (for better or worse) and that means NEW PRICESHEET!

These #CharacterArt examples are from 2024 and should give folks a decent idea of the art style I offer. #Dnd or #ttrpg characters seem to be who I get to meet the most, but I love ALL characters!

Hit me up & pls spread the word! <3

A stressor you can break free of:

Industry report: Identifies potential upcoming resource / mineral shortages.

The News: “THERE WILL BE A SHORTAGE IN 5 YEARS.”

Industry: Reacts to report’s identification of economic opportunity, increasing exploration and supply. No shortage ever appears.

I've only ever run D&D 5e (with many 3rd party supplements, to be fair), but I have copies of Vampire the Masquerade 5e, Call of Cthulhu 7e, Fate Core and Fate Accelerated, Blades in the Dark, and now Candela Obscura! All that's got to count for something, right?

In my youth, I was a full-blown right-wing evangelical. Homophobic, transphobic, the whole bit. So what changed my mind? With only mild exaggeration, it was this 2-minute music video right here: youtu.be/zeZMTOSeHVw?... Stories matter. Art matters. You never know.

One of the reason why American homeowners turn into reactionaries when you want to build new housing is they see their house as an investment and not a place to live. This is exactly why you should build more housing.
