I feel like it's extremely naive for people to look at the Sen/POTUS & then stamp around because their county Dem party that they refuse to participate in doesn't just magically reflect them. The county is exactly what you can change & that's how successful mvts build: widespread local organizing.

There's a reason the Tea Party astroturfed local county GOP parties & focused on polarizing local politics, state leges, & courts. There's a reason the Freedom Caucus (& Wilks/Dunn/etc in TX) did the same. They were backed by billionaires, but you can build genuine grassroots movements, too.

If you live in a red state like mine, you've literally watched it happen in real time over & over. It happens with relentless local & downballot politics. TXGOP went through a few rounds after they finished their takeover in the 00s. Then, the Tea Party purges, the Freedom Caucus & Wilks/Dunn purges

This isn't theoretical. This will kill & harm people we know, people we love, even many of us ourselves. We will not forget. We will not be quiet.

Trust is low. Any Senate Democrat who legitimately was against this has their work cut out for them to prove that trusting them isn't foolish.

We see that the cave in was orchestrated with vote swapping, so that no one up for re-election in '26 voted yes. It's great that you're against that bill & voted no.

Comedy can be such a personal, specific thing, really! There are kinds of comedy that really vibe with certain people & are off putting to others. It can be very love/hate!

We've been watching it since the beginning because we knew Quinta's work from Buzzfeed, so we're only catching up on the current season, but not every show is gonna work for everybody! Brooklyn Nine-nine, Abbott, Parks & Rec all do mockumentary comedy where characters have really exaggerated traits

a lot of us struggle with some combination of shame, impatience, anxiety that we'll never be able to realize our creative visions, realize perfection...when perfection or a perfect realization of what we imagine is probably not possible (for anyone!) & there's no 1 path.
