Economic historian, involved with the interplay of the long-run development of physical and monetary value of production and wealth. Anti-fascist (shorter: Antifa).
I missed this. Petro wants to revive Gran Colombia: Panama, Colombia, Venezuela. He is totally serious about this. Think of it. 100.000.000 people. Panama canal. Unlimited oil.

Checked Twitter. Elon is using his Algo against the (low) EU fine. This shows why this fine is a good fine.

As a teenager, I read stuff about Elvis. Especially the early years. I never read about this (see the picture attached, saw the movie on television, and googled it...)

Still like this song:

Tesla makes up less than 2%.

The Tesla bubble will be widely documented in history books.

Why, might be appropriate for our leaders, intellectuals, and activists who profess to care about our shared humanity to actually do or say something

The US wants regime change in Europe
Just how much do we have to see before Europeans stop saying that the US has become an unreliable ally?
It is officially pursuing key interests that are diametrically opposed to European interests & values.
For at least as long as the Trump administration wields power the US is not an EU ally.
US national security strategy.
Something sure is unrecognisable here, but it’s not Europe.

🔴 Almost 50 million people were in modern slavery in 2021.

Nothing can justify this human rights abuse today.

It´s official. On day 334, we got a new seasonal low for arctic sea ice extent. Statistically, the low is actually not that interesting. More interesting is that historically, sea ice extent during this period of the year was quite predictable (the grey bands). Not anymore. A new epoch.

It's easy to see shoddy research as a bad actor problem. But if AI slop like this can make it through editors and peer reviewers, it means there are systemic problems at work. And I'd argue that at least part of the problem is the overwork culture in academia-- pressure to do more while caring less.
