As someone who loves the book, has read it many times, owns a few copies etc, I've thought about it a bunch and I am convinced if anyone gets a chance to make it it's gonna be like a dumb and dumber type comedy and all the stuff about Boethius etc will get dropped or reduced to one line

It shouldn't be an expensive picture unless you load it with expensive stars. It would be a wild adapted screenplay though, I think once it gets the Hollywood treatment it would be fairly unrecognizable
