I’m so honored to have a poem in the Bellingham Review’s newest issue.
The poem borrows language from Sylvia Plath’s “Morning Song.” :)

I love a poem with couplets that have wild second lines. Give me "Everyday he ate the same breakfast: / fourteen love letters folded into paper airplanes" alllllll day. Business in the front, fantasy in the back. Little poetry mullets. Tiny tugboats dragging leviathans into the harbor.

"It was in that hour that I became negatively capable. My life spiraled onward, and duende became my claim to an errant power."
This is an essay on my poem "Ballad," Keats's notion of Negative Capability, and Lorca's Duende, with a prompt and a link to the original poem. I'm happy to share it with you.

Christ was laid out in a glass coffin, like Snow White. I visited and re-visited him. He looked so much like my father on his deathbed.
