![On July 10, 1979, The San Diego Chicken, then working for the Seattle Mariners, put a hex on Yankees pitcher Ron Guidry during a game at the Seattle Kingdome. Yankees outfielder Lou Piniella responded by chasing the mascot and throwing his glove at him.[2][3] In response, Steinbrenner said that mascots had no place in baseball, despite the imminent release of Dandy.[2]

![While the Mariner Moose was the Mariners' first full-time mascot, the team previously held a mascot competition in 1979 in response to the popularity of the San Diego Chicken. The winner of the competition was "Spacey the Needle," which was a man that wore a hat resembling the top of the Space Needle while on stilts; a man in a diaper took second place. It's usually a pretty good indication if they hadn't picked it up by the finale that it's not going to be.
Especially on places like FX. Tho you'd think Hawley would have earned some benefit of the doubt so rules might not apply to him so much.

Yah but I don't like the guy because he beat my Canucks for years so I'm gonna be unfair and hold it against him.
Looking at the list of defensemen not in yet, the only guy id actually have in over him is Sergei Gonchar.
Lots at other spots tho. CuJo, Alex Kovalev, Zetterberg, Brind'Amour, LeClair

Yah I'm not saying he shouldn't be a candidate but I'd have a list of 10 to 20 guys I'd put on in front of him, and also weren't Blackhawks and aren't stained with the worst sex scandal in generations.
