Looks like someone tried to stuff the ballot box for the Hugos to the benefit of one (unsuspecting) finalist, got caught and the votes were then disallowed. Good on the administrators for catching it and IMMEDIATELY informing us all about it. This is how it's done.

Looks like someone tried to stuff the ballot box for the Hugos to the benefit of one (unsuspecting) finalist, got caught and the votes were then disallowed. Good on the administrators for catching it and IMMEDIATELY informing us all about it. This is how it's done.

From a descriptive linguistic perspective, there is no "right" or "wrong" pronunciation, only pronunciation that is or isn't understood by whoever you're talking to.
Nobody ever pronounced a name they encountered in a book wrong. They just might have pronounced it differently to other people.
