It is strange, unique - a novel, collage & psychogeographical document - probably the truest account of being in a band that I’ve ever read, & an essential document of 80s Britain @memorialdevice.bsky.social
Just finished reading this. As per Kim Gordon’s review on the front cover “I wanted to live in this book”

This book by @epwebber.bsky.social is brilliant. Up there with Seumas Milne's The Enemy Within. Yes, that good 🙏

BAM! We’re back with the stuff of dreams, a new collab with legend David Keenan, turning This Is Memorial Device into a gloriously tactile, Glasgow-made letterpress art print. Numbered, signed, only 100. Cult-novel magic for your wall. More news soon. 😎

Covid truths: tens of thousands of people died unnecessarily due to Johnson's incompetence, indecisiveness and sheer laziness. This includes assembling the worst cabinet in British political history to aid and abet him.

In my corner of the bass-playing universe there was life pre- and post-Mani. He brought a liquid, melodic funkiness that EVERYONE copied. And when I finally met him he was exactly how you imagined him: joyful, generous, unstarry (& more of a star because of it) and wickedly funny. A life well lived

Not one single bad word about Mani. Anywhere 🙏

This - finally - is the definitive musical history Sheffield so richly deserves.

GROOVY, LAIDBACK AND NASTY is @danieldylanwray.bsky.social's authoritative and hugely entertaining story of the city, told through its independent artists, scenes and spirit.

Artist and activist Caroline Coon wearing a Kansai Yamomoto catsuit in 1971. She was unusual in the UK counterculture insofar as, instead of sitting around seeing utopias in a cloud of hash smoke, she organised, administrated and actually helped people.
