Which nutrient surprised you the most? Keep in mind that poor nutrition can result from both inadequate and excessive levels of nutrient intake. More is never better and there’s no need to fear carbs, fats, or proteins. We all need a specific amount to function the best we can.

5. Minerals: consisting of 15 elements (from the periodic table), also perform particular functions in the human body. 🫘

6. Water: can be provided by food and liquid, adults are about 60-70% water by weight. Water plays a role in energy transformation, excretion of waste, and temp regulation.💧

3. Fats (lipids): made up of various triglycerides, along with oils they are concentrated sources of energy and perform numerous important functions in the body. 🥑

4. Vitamins: 14 specific chemical substances that perform specific functions. Veggies, fruits, and grains are good sources for these. 🍊
