If I harp a lot about statistics it is because a lot of people read them wrong. If you look at percentage alone, then sure it looks like more, but when you look at how many voted, it's actually less.

1. Less people voted for statehood in 2024, than in 2020.
2. More people voted against it (chose independence, free association, or left it blank)
3. Independence saw a drastic increase, despite the fact that there was no campaign aside from leaving the ballot blank.
