Less people voted for statehood in 2024, and more people voted against it/boycotted. And this is after decades of campaigns for it.

I need non-PRicans to stop pushing for statehood like I'd a moral good, as if it wasn't colonialism.
in all seriousness if i were jenniffer gonzalez, the pro-statehood, pro-trump woman who just got elected governor of puerto rico, i would spend the next month parked at mar-a-lago convincing trump that admitting puerto rico as the 51st state would be an incredible PR move
my galaxy brain idea is that Congress should introduce rename an existing DC Statehood bill as the "The President Donald J. Trump DC Statehood Act To Make America Great Again" and see if he'll be able to resist adding a state.
