This rings true. AI feels so icky. I can think of a very few areas in which it could possibly benefit humanity (data analysis in science/medicine, probably). But otherwise, I'm with this cartoonist.

I know we're all big on #buycanadian and #buylocal these days. But let's not forget to buy pretty much all the rest too. We're going to need lots of friends to help us through the next stretch. (I mean, the priority being #buyless in general, with the whole climate crisis and all, but you know.)

I've been in aviation for 28 years. Not in commercial flight, but in the air cadet gliding program: a microcosm of the aviaton industry. We have pilots, ground crew, launch control officers (who function very much like air traffic control), flight safety staff, students, instructors, passengers, etc
