Harrell acknowledged losing the race and said he doesn't know what his next step is. He joked several times about pursuing a rapping or singing career. #waelex

Much of Harrell's speech involved thanking staff, who were gathered around to listen.

I should have said “up 0.7 percentage points” but you get it
November 13, 2025 at 2:24 AM
Also has to be within half a percentage point. She's at 0.7% and margin likely only to increase or stay same

The other one was also doing somersaults in the living room at the same time, but that was less of an issue. No school today!

My youngest child slapped my laptop closed twice when I was running my spreadsheet, so I don't recommend mathing under such circumstances

Don't try to run a spreadsheet when you're getting crawled over by toddlers is the lesson

Deleted an earlier tweet in this thread because I briefly was using the wrong totals for Wilson and Harrell in my math. She's in recount territory - barely - right now, but it's a big margin still and Harrell would be unlikely to gain 1,347 votes with a recount.
November 12, 2025 at 1:00 AM
yes, i talk about that in the next tweet on the thread.

The point is, there may not be a recount; if there is, it's a pretty wide margin for Wilson -- more than 1,300 votes -- that a recount would be unlikely to reverse. #waelex

Candidates and others can also request recounts. It would cost them something like $40K in this race for a machine recount, based on the rules and number of ballots.
