Our football team is going to the third round of state playoffs this Friday. It’s the first time in 12 years they have even won district. Maybe that accounts for some of the reason all the students seem to have lost their minds the past week or so.

Homecoming week was 2 weeks ago at our school. Here are my outfits. Check Alt text for context. Homecoming theme was “Games”
Tuesday was video game day. Here I’m dressed as Commander Shepard from the Mass Effect franchise in her casual hoodie. Black hoodie with red and white trim, N7 embroidered on right breast. Silver dog tags, and hair pulled back in a pony tail. Wednesday was card game day. I’m dressed as the Old Maid from the Old Maid deck. Hair pulled back in a bun. Wearing an old fashioned, frilled white top with pearl buttons. Long gold chain with a timepiece pendant, and glasses perched low on my nose. Thursday was board game day and I’m dressed as Ms. Peacock from Clue. Black sparkly top, peacock earrings and a small black hat with peacock feathers. I’m holding a brass candlestick. Friday was just blue and gold spirit day. I’m wearing my big blue and gold hair ribbon and earrings and my bulldog paw necklace with a navy blue t-shirt with a gold FC on the left breast.

Last day of summer vacation! (Even though I won’t make it to school tomorrow because of a final post-surgery checkup) So I brought out the fancy coffee to get me through “beginning of school morning blahs”.

I’ve pulled something in my lower back again, so I spent yesterday with some enjoyable cozy games. Finished up Wytchwood and went back to get some more trophies in Strange Horticulture. I recommend them both.

It’s a Mississippi snowstorm! Everything is shut down. Everything, I tell you.

It is finally Friday and I can’t express how much I need this coming 3 day weekend. I spent a good 30 seconds yesterday afternoon not understanding why I couldn’t unlock my house door while using my schoolroom key. The keys in question. . .

I’m using a multipurpose glue for foam/wood/styrofoam and it is working really well. This is what it looked like in Canva when I was almost finished with the 8 x 10 sheet.

I was given a miniature bookshelf for Christmas and decided I wanted to change the generic books that came with it, so I’ve spent quite a lot of time making miniature book covers for books that I loved that we read in book club (plus a few old comfort books) #booksky 📚

I don’t have mine attached at the moment, but this is the one I use with my record player and I’ve been pleased with it. Brand is Logi and it just has two small speakers and a subwoofer.

Mom had Christmas ornaments made this year as presents. She had one of each of my pets made. They turned out really well!

We had our last bookclub meeting of the year this evening. One member has been making these magnets with the books we read that year since we first started this club about 7 years ago. I love having them to look back at and see what all we have read together.

What if I told you that connecting with the divine involves learning how the divine loves and then going through the actionable steps to practice that same type of love in your own life? I guess some folks feel that’s too effeminate.

This is the second morning I’ve been making my coffee and as I turn around from the refrigerator with the coffee creamer in my hand, my gremlin brain has whispered “pour it in the candle”. Why are brains so weird?

Last night mom and I went to the first annual “Stories on the Hill” hosted by the theater group at school. The students researched folks buried in the city cemetery and then narrated their stories to us. It was a very interesting evening.

It was parade day here in our little town. That means we had a 60% day at school and then everyone dismissed for the traditional afternoon Christmas parade. It’s always fun to see so many of my students participating.

Topped off my Christmas shopping this morning. Got my dad a pair of warm pajamas, a sheet set for my best friend, my mom and I coordinating tops, and added to my great-niece’s first Christmas gift with 3 new outfits. Now all I have to do is the wrapping.
3 outfits in the 18 month size for a little girl. On the left, a grey shirt with penguins on the front that says “love my family” it comes with a pair of purple leggings that have polar bears and seals on them. In the middle a cream colored shirt with a unicorn embroidered in brown and a pair of brown leggings with small flowers on them. And on the right a green flowy top with flowers embroidered around the next and flower patterned leggings. Coordinating tops. Both have a diamond shaped pattern in black. One of them has the diamond shape on a primarily red background and the other on a primarily green background.

My new uncle even pulled out the red MAGA hat last night. My car battery decided it would be best to die the night before Thanksgiving while we are in another state. But at least the evening ended with some tea in a cute mug and Indiana Jones.
