I’m seeing more and more predoc positions opening. Some of them don’t even offer a possibility to continue phd. Respectfully, what is the point to this? You need an assistant for a project so you expect someone to move in and waste one year from their life?

Başvuru dönemi hala sürerken listenizdeki okullarda yüzde kaç uluslararası öğrenci var, başka ülkelerden ne kadar kişi almışlar mutlaka dikkatle bakın. “International students” meselesini koordine edebilecek deneyim, yatırım ve bilinç var mı önemli olan bu.

I downloaded twitter because only a few accounts were posting about the pretests in Turkey here. But my feed is flooded with tiktok videos, clickbait, ai generated ads, and paid trolls, while opposition voices are restricted or shadowbanned. It just doesn’t work.

I was able to bring some more of my old books back from family visit. Of course, new ones sneaked in as well. I really missed reading in my language, especially reading fiction. 2025 will be spent with more Turkish books! :)

Even though I use it passively, moving here was the best decision I've made recently regarding my social media usage. Seeing Musk's Nazi salute just now, I am once again convinced of this. All I can say is that we will not surrender to fascism.

I just read the email sent by a Saudi woman to German police about Magdeburg attacker. It hurts a lot when you know that these people would be alive today if only this was not being ignored.

Probably too late for that, but last night I watched The Challengers (not a good movie btw) and I need explanation for who thought an actress with zero biceps can convince the audience that she is a spectacular tennis player??? I do sports and yes I am offended by that 😒
