It would be a shame to encourage folks to use banned book lists to do strange things like
-check them out regularly at the library
-request the library order them if they don’t have them
-buy them
-start or support banned book clubs
-organize a banned book kids story time
A real shame

Kendrick Lamar's Superbowl performance is why funding arts and humanities matters. We have Kendrick because his teacher introduced him to poetry and writing.

Karla Sofía Gascón shares new statement:

“I can’t fix my past acts, I can only say that today I am not the same person I was 10 or 20 years ago […] I recognize, in between tears, that they have won, they have achieved their objective, to stain my existence with lies or things taken out of context.”

This is a thread about book banning. Right now, today, books are being pulled from shelves in libraries and classrooms, some by direct order, some in fear of what's coming. This is *exactly* what Project 2025 said was going to happen. Make no mistake: this is not about books; it's about people. 1/8
