It's a really hard choice, and there's no right answer for everyone. Some folks don't even have a choice if they're in legal limbo with identity documents. I agree that the "privileged" ones are those whose employment and healthcare safety make it possible for them to stay.

Scott and I have attended 3 events in Monterey this year, each one bigger than the previous. It’s a lot, but we moved around to manage the peoply part. So much love from passing motorists, but also so much noise.

It’s not that difficult to understand gender identity as a personal reality rather than an affectation. But opening your mind can lead to all manner of terrifying soul-searching.
