Probably millions of red-thighed St. Mark's flies were swarming over the Blencathra fells in the Lake District last Monday. Two ring ouzels seen on Sharp Edge.

Ignore my son's dog, and the mallards, there are now Mandarin ducks on my childhood haunt of Roundhay Park lake in Leeds. Rose-ringed parakeets have colonised too. Mindst you, it's a long time since I was a kid.
