She’s a seamstress first in Topsham then Exeter. My belief from reading several accounts is she would have sewed and measured clients in the front room which doubled as her workshop

Wish I’d come across your Coffers book ages ago, it would have saved me hours of research! A couple of questions if you have time- my protagonist has a house with a shop, would there have been glass? Also I have a vicarage with a chaise longue and a knowle type sofa is this OK for 1686? Thanks
