I agree.I’m a Bernie fan I just don’t think anyone in their 80’s or 90’s should be in office& I believe it tarnishes their achievements when they cling on to power so long they are being pushed out/found in care homes/falling or freezing at press conferences.He needs to help someone replace him IMO

I agree with you that he won’t be replaced with a right wing reactionary but just because he’s replaced by someone on the Democratic Party side doesn’t mean he will be replaced by someone who has his values. He should be helping someone he politically aligns with to come up through the ranks now IMO

Term limits are needed AND an age cap. It’s not okay to be in your 90’s and in office - whether congress, Supreme Court or the presidency - like he plans to be since he has filed the paper work to run for reelection. New generations deserve opportunity to lead and influence their futures.

Precisely he won’t, because no matter much you like him (and I really do) he’s succumb to the same addiction to power as a lot of politicians in America of his generation, and doesn’t appear to recognise the damage it is doing to the party. Biden, Pelosi, RGB… all refusing to let go.

Someone who is not in the senate yet, who can run for his seat if he chooses not to run again, which he should. He is too old and there are now three generations behind him who can put someone left forward to fill his seat. His is also not the only leftist in the Democratic Party, is he.

Same for Biden and Pelosi, McConnell and all the other dinosaurs holding on to power then is it? Biden didn’t pass the torch until he was pushed because nobody else in America had earned the right to run for president, is that supposed to be a rational position?

Bernie is the only non centrist stooge in America is he?

It’s going to count for nothing if he pulls and Biden and Pelosi now and refuses to pass the torch.
