My (white with freckles on one side) inner arm with a black ink simple line tattoo of a tree with flowers and two birds with a larger star above it and small stars all around the tree. Razzouk’s (the tattoo purveyor) calls it a “love and family” image, but I like to think of it as a tree of life, but it is also reminiscent of Scandinavian bird and flower imagery, which fits my tastes and background as well.

And the weather is perfect for sitting outside with my breakfast taco, a Topo Chico and a good book.

I’ve been reading @rebeccasolnit.bsky.social’s Hope in the Dark this week (it’s been on my list, and it just came in at the library - thanks, interlibrary loan!), and what timing. I highly recommend a read or reread because even though it largely addresses the Bush years, it’s also for these times.

These two posts came up back-to-back for me, and it may be a sign!

Was wishing @solomonmissouri.bsky.social was with @revdavid.bsky.social and I today at lunch at a local place outside NOLA where I had the best fried chicken, red beans and rice, and cornbread. He would have loved it!! And proposed to Mama of Mama’s Kitchen! (I’m married, otherwise…)
