We're more than six months into Chicago 18 now, and I still am not used to capitalizing "from" and "with" in titles. Not even two years of editing mostly in APA or AMA can cure me of wanting thinking those two should be lowercased in titles.

chatgpt has fully broken-through to every facet of the corporate environment. I'm spending a not-insignificant amount of my time every week now explaining to people that just because chatgpt told you that something was possible doesn't mean that it a) is or b) even exists

I finished a crocheted throw for myself last week. I've made lots things for other people, but mostly I don't make stuff for myself. I absolutely love this throw, though. I feel like, "Aww, somebody loves me," and that somebody is myself.

I need y'all to sit with this headline and understand what is being done to our community. They're trying to criminalize our very existence.

This is a campaign of eradication.

I would argue no one should travel to the U.S. right now because it’s important to vote with your wallet. Don’t spend tourist dollars there

Another reason? The threat of being detained by ICE. It’s not safe in America

Friendly reminder that Joann Fabrics isn’t closing because it’s a bad business. It’s closing bc it was bought by a private equity firm. This is also what is happening to Hooters and what happened to US Toys R Us and Red Lobster. These companies are being dismantled intentionally.

Okay, I keep thinking about those pride flag yarns at Joann's. If you are someone I know who would like a crocheted scarf or keychain in the colors of a particular pride flag, let me know (either comment or message, whatever you feel comfortable with). (NB: Note the "someone I know" bit.)
I visited our soon-to-be-closing Joann's today, and apparently Joann's Big Twist brand of yarn has pride flags colorways. So that's pretty darn cool. (The pan flag makes especially lovely yarn.)
