We stand in solidarity with our trans siblings and are united in our anger at the Supreme Court ruling & EHRC update.

Trans, non-binary and intersex people are facing exclusion from basic aspects of public life.

Please read this thread that contains recommendations and calls to action.

This ruling is a huge step backwards for the rights of trans people.

This is a step backwards for women.

I am not here to debate this, because there is no debate about the fact that trans people do in fact exist, as much as the hateful among us would prefer they didn't.

Love to my trans siblings.
"Trans women can claim sex discrimination because they are perceived to be women."

This shows that it was never about sex. It was always about whether or not someone is perceived to be feminine enough.

Cis women that don't meet this standard are also at risk and always have been.
"The concept of sex is a binary, a person is either a woman or a man."

This ignores intersex people. Fully denies that they exist.

It also ignores a lot of made up markers involving hormones and secondary sexual characteristics.

Science tells us that sex is a spectrum.

The Bookseller's article on Bloomsbury re-engaging with Amazon is saddening. The language about Amazon "contacting Bloomsbury authors and agents" is alarming. It's a clear attempt to "strong-arm a big trade publisher" and the livelihoods it represents. Don't buy books from Amazon.
