Obviously this will not be reported by mainstream media (which is at root responsible for this), a group of trans people were attacked for having a peaceful gathering in Manchester.
We had hoped today to be sharing news of a joyous day spent at our Trans Picnic in the Park community event, and whilst we were exceptionally glad to see everyone join us in sharing the sunshine and lovely food, we cannot ignore what also occurred yesterday. Two separate times during our picnic, sat peacefully in Platt Fields Park, we were approached by groups of young men, intent on harrassing, intimidating, and threatening our friends and picnic-goers. The first pair tore down a Progress Pride flag we had raised to show where we were to people coming to the event, and after threatening to violently assault one of our members with a knife, had his partner burn the flag infront of our group, before leaving. In the second incident another group of three men approached our picnic area, shouting abuse, and tore down the remaining Trans and Non-Binary pride flags that we had next to us, and ran off with them out of the park. Both of these incidents were reported immediately to the Police, but we do not expect any positive outcome from this. Whilst thankfully no one in our community was physically harmed, thanks in part to the intervention of several of our members, this blatant attack on our right to feel safe as a community is a disgusting display of the impunity and hatred with which parts of our society treat their trans siblings. This was an obvious attack on our community, perpetrated by those who know they will face no reprecussions for their attack, and Trans Mutual Aid Manchester cannot strongly enough condemn this sort of violent intimidation. To those outside the Trans community, we hope this can be something of a wake-up call to know the kind of rampant abuse we face by those who know they can attack us freely. Please help me get this viral. Bayswater is a cruel and vile trans conversion therapy group that was included in research for the CASS Report. Conversion therapy that involves abusing children who are trans. This is disgusting, vile, and must be widely exposed.
Hello everyone, I've contacted MSPs from all the Political Parties in the Scottish Parliament to bring to your attention this matter of the upmost seriousness and of concern. On behalf of the trans community, I insist that you demand Westminster to review the now universaly discredited CASS Report. I've CC in many press contacts into this email as the extent of bias and corruption within the report has been revealed by an investigation by Translucent. The full investigation can be found here. https://translucent.org.uk/the-cass-report-scandal/ "To date, thirteen high-profile organisations globally have criticised the Cass Report, and this week, it emerged that Switzerland published their version of Cass, flying in the face of what Hillary Cass and her advisory board have suggested. Unlike Cass, the report from Switzerland is open and transparent, naming all the health professionals who contributed to their report. Despite numerous efforts to find out, Cass’s advisory board is shrouded in secrecy, causing alarm that she worked solely with those who disapprove of gender-affirming care, such as SEGM, Bayswater and other gender-critical groups. Bayswater, allegedly a parent-led group, has been at the centre of allegations of some members supporting conversion therapy and child abuse. At the same time, SEGM has been named as an SPLC “Hate Group.” The Swiss Report titled “Medical Treatment for Minors With Gender Dysphoria” contradicts Cass in several areas. While both address ethical considerations and the well-being of young people, they diverge in their emphasis on caution, evidence standards, and the interpretation of existing research." 1 year ago today I came out to my family trans. I wrote them a letter as I was too scared to tell them in person.

A year on, and my 82yr old mum makes a massive effort, my younger sister is supportive and my dad refers to me like some kind of object when talking about me, no pronouns, no names 😔

This was me in March, on my first day in the office after coming out at work. I was terrified but everyone was really supportive and I wish I’d had the courage to do it sooner.
