(it's easier for the industries to let you fall in the failure mud, kick you into the statistics ditch, and scoff at you as a bad example; than it is for them to supply needed supportive resources or conditions that would help you. It'd cost them their money and your time & productivity 🙄😒)

the system is so inherently designed to prey on this exact part of people who fall for the highly curated "ideal image" of the perfect, dedicated, noble cause worker who wants to make a difference. It applies to so many "heroic" careers in crumbling systems that don't support them--

I personally think this has SO MUCH to do with an unprecedented voter turnout during COVID in 2020. When there was nothing to do, lots more people watched, listened, cared, & voted. I believe the shift noted here is because we went back to less of our citizens voting. I don't see a lot discussing it
