She promoted Polish hymns, funded hospitals, and translated Scripture into the vernacular.

Jadwiga was meant to wed her childhood fiancé, William of Habsburg.

Instead, she chose duty over love marrying Jogaila, the pagan Grand Duke of Lithuania.

He converted to Christianity, became Władysław II Jagiełło, and together they forged a new realm: the Polish-Lithuanian Union. ⚔️✝️
