The Media Culture & Policy Lab investigates the complex interactions between people, media, and culture to foster social cohesion, inclusivity, and critical dialogue.
Discrimination lawsuits based on race, religion and gender are prominent and popular newspapers focus on sensational events with less comprehensive reporting. Alleged perpetrators receive more news coverage than victims, with a growing reluctance to assign responsibility to specific actors.

At #IDS2025, we also celebrated the launch of AI: Rethink, Regulate, Reimagine. This book, edited by @leendhaenens.bsky.social, @ansdenolf.bsky.social and @biekezaman.bsky.social, brings together diverse perspectives in a shared call for democratic, ethical, and sustainable approaches to AI 💡

We also took part in the International Conference for an Inclusive Digital Society (#IDS2025) as presenters, chairs, and volunteers. This conference, organised by @digisoc.bsky.social, brought together scholars to exchange ideas on building a more inclusive digital society ⬇️
