Reading further, the GP is being defended by the MDU but the claimant is also suing the practice which includes the partners who are covered by the MPS which does not cover 'vicarious responsibility'.

Partners who had no input into the decision.

Exclusive GP partners facing ‘hundreds of thousands of pounds’ in legal costs have issued a warning to practices about the risks of ‘vicarious liability’.

Still thinking about the GP getting sued by a university student for £15M after she was paralysed in a skydiving accident. Why? Because the GP signed a ’fit to take part’ form. I get the woman is angry and upset but where is the logic? What are the ramifications? 1/3 www.mirror.co.uk/lifestyle/he...
'I'm NHS GP and there's big reason doctors now avoid fit to do letters'
Letters from doctors approving patients' taking part in extreme activities are likely to now be a thing of the past following a skydiving incident, according to an NHS GP

Further more the ADHD this is getting on my nut.

I had a child school had sent in for a referral for ADHD as he was unhappy at school (and school only)
A few questions and it was obvious he was being bullied.

STOP PATHOLOGISING NORMAL HUMAN BEHAVIOUR!

I love adapting jokes for different audiences, doing some research about a culture I'm not a part of, because if you do it well, you get welcomed in! Such a great feeling. Yesterday I talked to a Nigerian medical association and now they are voting on what my Nigerian nickname should be 🇳🇬 😂

This is AI. It's fake. It's fictional.

This is the new world of AI-Evangelism.

It's manipulative, disingenuous, and predatory.

It targets older, vulnerable people who won’t know the difference – aiming to convert through deception for views and ad revenue.

The most random mixed bag of reliability and quality but I am, apparently, one of the Top 25 Healthcare Influencers in the UK. Some deeply dubious company there (and some great ones) Eh I'll take it. Potentially justifiable use of Al: a video of Jeremy Corbyn singing "Zarah Sultana" to the tune of 'Sara Zamana, haseeno ka deewana’

Even better, I would like to see it happen in real life at the next Your Fiasco party.

James’s terminally ill mum had to travel to Dignitas alone for an assisted death.
Now, one year on from MPs voting for the assisted dying Bill, a handful of Peers are trying to delay and derail it.
Write to Peers and let them know we expect progress, not sabotage.

We still exist in very different realities. I posted a video about men on supra-normal testosterone developing heart disease and many of the comments are “bet the actual cause was the covid vaccine”, while at the same time posts on reddit are angry with me because the cause is CLEARLY covid itself

Agreed. But what really winds me up is they’re invariably very pleased with themselves. Like they’ve unlocked some new level of PowerPoint expertise only truly special people know about. Smug slides. AI and smugness do go hand in 7-fingered hand so often don’t they?!
I don’t know if anyone else notices or cares, but when I see a presentation in which the speaker uses obviously generated-AI images to illustrate their slides, it makes me immediately less confident in whatever other content they’re presenting.

Believe it or not, the paper this comes from is actually worse than the infographic
"Runctitiononal features"? "Medical fymblal"? "1 Tol Line storee"? This gets worse the longer you look at it. But it's got to be good, because it was published in Nature Scientific Reports last week: www.nature.com/articles/s41... h/t @asa.tsbalans.se

I know things are exaggerated for memes but thanksgiving genuinely seems to be a fraught experience. Many serious articles too about surviving conversations with parents. Are US families this fractured? I don’t know any culture where family get-togethers require thinkpieces and navigation guides

This is *horrific* reading. Valid concerns about a super specialised field with complex ethics. Author makes a few leaps tho when comparing with other operations, but I am also reminded of massaged/false data in nascent transplant fields (trachea, head)

Then, the nightmare of US health. Horrifying.

Keep seeing this phrase that the liver is the only organ that can regenerate. My second favourite organ…but this ain’t right

I don’t often defend the garbage organ that is skin but this is 🙅🏽‍♂️ skin erasure

Most organs have SOME regenerative ability. The liver’s is crazy though, up to 70% regrowth

Is there any object that has changed less in the last 4000 years than a gaming die? There's an astonishingly human and above all social story around that profound survival.
This terracotta die comes from the ancient city of Mohenjo-Daro, one of the first urban centres in human history 🎲⠀

Gaming with dice has been a popular pastime in India for millennia, with this object dating back to 2500–1900 BCE.

Found a bunch of old issues of a paper I used to edit and write for at medschool, good fun reading what nonsense I used to write. In fact, little has changed! Saying the same shit ~20yrs later. Ahead of Scrubs's return, here are some excerpts from a review of 2 NEW shows, House and Grey's Anatomy
