Fun thing I just connected - I thought this song was far older than the war of independence, but no, it was all happening at around the same time.

We've been singing the same song for a long time, but at least we're still singing.

We understand the presence of the SWP will have made organisations wary of working with us. We hope to regain that confidence, and believe that having our organisation free of SWP influence will enable us to focus on the task at hand - the liberation of all trans people. 7/8

The Manchester Trans Liberation Assembly strongly denounces the SWP. The SWP has a long history of failing to protect survivors and address historical and continuing abuses - both within their own party and in grassroots campaigns. 6/n

For these reasons and in recognition of the harms caused by the SWP and its fronts, we voted overwhelmingly in favour of banning all members of the SWP and its fronts from MTLA. 5/n

and MTLA members were unable to adequately deal with this situation due to their lack of control over the SWP members’ organisation of the route. 4/n

SWP members also planned a route for that demonstration that was inaccessible and unsafe. Despite repeated requests the route was not shared with members beforehand.

On the day of the protest, there was an unexpected escalation by transphobic fascists, 3/n

and was against the spirit of our constitution. This included setting up a stall, selling newspapers and handing out SWP-branded placards at our most recent demonstration. 2/n

Disabled people who have been Disabled for a while: Cops are going to use anti-mask legislation as a pretext to harass Disabled people.

Everybody else: No, there's a carve-out for medical use!

Disabled people: And?
So the woman arrested for wearing a medical mask at a protest was released; cops said it requires a doctor's note.

This is not true of the local laws where they are, but—as we told you happens—cops don't know or pay attention to these regulations.
Police said it requires a doctor’s note. When asked of masked ICE agents, they had no comment or said “They’re federal.” Not great!

Just taking one example from the above story on the price of inhalers, you can see how absurd the price differences are between different jurisdictions. This makes absolutely no sense. Advair HFA costs $319 in the US, but $26 in the UK? Wild. (It's $122-$173 in Canada, btw)
