Fun thing I just connected - I thought this song was far older than the war of independence, but no, it was all happening at around the same time.

We've been singing the same song for a long time, but at least we're still singing.

On Tuesday 24th of June Manchester Trans Liberation Assembly voted overwhelmingly to ban the Socialist Workers Party (SWP) from our organisation.

SWP members repeatedly used MTLA events to promote their own organisation, despite our collective agreement that this would not be tolerated 1/n

Absolutely incredible turnout for Budapest Pride! So proud of all the organizers, including some old friends, who estimate hundreds of thousands— major embarrassment to Orban

there is no one who thinks trans women should be banned from sports and supports all other trans rights. it’s just a foot in the door for them to get at the wholesale banning of trans people from public life. it’s been ten years of this. no one is buying your shit anymore.

Disabled people who have been Disabled for a while: Cops are going to use anti-mask legislation as a pretext to harass Disabled people.

Everybody else: No, there's a carve-out for medical use!

Disabled people: And?
So the woman arrested for wearing a medical mask at a protest was released; cops said it requires a doctor's note.

This is not true of the local laws where they are, but—as we told you happens—cops don't know or pay attention to these regulations.
Police said it requires a doctor’s note. When asked of masked ICE agents, they had no comment or said “They’re federal.” Not great!

Trans and queer people have produced —and will produce— more enduring art, science, technology, and philosophy in 10 years than the fascists would in 10,000. Our work is the basis of everything valuable. They cannot erase us.

Behind the ruling: how ‘Sex Matters’ is shaping UK policy on trans rights

Just taking one example from the above story on the price of inhalers, you can see how absurd the price differences are between different jurisdictions. This makes absolutely no sense. Advair HFA costs $319 in the US, but $26 in the UK? Wild. (It's $122-$173 in Canada, btw)

Two big asthma and COPD medication stories coming out of the US this week, both highlighting the absurd way that inhalers - many of which are decades-old drugs delivered by decades-old device technologies - are priced out of reach of patients that need them.

Hey if you’re, say, an author who has a shit ton of recorded interview and video material online, you should warn your parents/partners/etc about this.
holy fuck my parents nearly got scammed by one of those AI voice calls today. They used MY VOICE TO MAKE MY PARENTS THINK I ACCIDENTALLY KILLED TWO PEOPLE WITH MY CAR AND THAT THEY NEEDED TO PAY MY BAIL
