I dig all my materials by hand, use a kick wheel and fire in my wood burning kiln. From scratch, from here (Manitoba, Canada).

Fermenters.
I use these to make sauerkraut and my Manitoba version of kimchi… people who bought them have shared recipes for kosher pickles, dill carrots, sour onions and just liking the form enough that they didn’t want the fermentation weights.
Any fun ferments to suggest as I plan the garden?

Throwing fermentation crocks this weekend. It takes 7 kg (15.4 lbs) to make these large ones, which seems to be about the limit of what I can throw on the kick wheel. My stockpile of pots for wood-firing season is growing.

Hey Bluesky people!

If you followed my adventures on insta (which I’m leaving) you already know that I dig everything that goes into my pots from where I live. I also throw my pots on a kick wheel and fire in my wood burning kilns. If you just found my account I hope you enjoy my ramblings!

Lots of trimming today while listening to podcasts about getting out from under the regime.
