After a wonderful trip to New York and Connecticut, we got to come home to our block party for National Night Out. Letting the kids roam and play without worrying about cars while we chat with neighbors is such a dream.

I can’t believe it took me this long to get to the neighborhood cat cafe. Perfect place to write half a speech. I would have done excellent procrastinating here in college.

So much of going to the pool with toddlers is my 2 year old buckling and unbuckling and rebuckling a life jacket and trying to carry too many noodles and then my 5 year old showing me a pair of long-dead bats and then my 2 year old needing to go potty. Really appreciating the slowness of it all.

My experience of parenting so far has been that my kids just get easier and more fun. Today I marveled at being able to use both hands to unpack a suitcase while my 2 year old entertained herself (and it was so cute I had to take a picture). Two years ago I felt like I needed an extra set of arms.
