Amazed hearing name of Eugene Debs in Manami’s acceptance speech last night. In the day I dated a union leader of Industrial Workers of the World. Debs was extremely popular in north Louisiana and many backed him for the Presidency & named their boys after him. He would have been disgusted by Trump.

Alist of terms used in readjustment allowances for veterans of ww2 including this interesting one:
“Veteran means any person, male or female defined as such under title V of the act, and unless the context requires otherwise, the masculine includes the feminine and the singular includes the plural.”

A blast from Jimmy Carter to remind us of that there are men who believe people were good and that it is best to look up to the stars rather than oink around in the mud.

🌿does anyone know what this might be? North Louisiana acid pine soil dry up on a ridge. Appears to make one leaf per plant perhaps bulb or stollen. I couldn’t get up there to dig one out as I had broken a nonsupport bone in leg.

I’ve got your attention! DEMOCRATS ARE NOT TRYING TO FUND HEALTHCARE FOR ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS! REPUBLICANS LIE! (A great jazz jam at Onyx in Natchitoches LA 3rd Thursday night.)

Took a close look at Aralia spinosa (Hercules Club) today out-and-about in the piney woods. These aren’t textbook with few spines on stems and no prickles on leaves. Berries not edible, I think. I threw a branch in the bird berry area I don’t mow.

And still the world turns to autumn and the Liatris blooming just in time for migrating Monarch butterflies.

When I was in elementary school through 6th grade EVERY year my classes had at least one student attending with me in my class who was handicapped by POLIO.Are we joyfully going back to this status—children who suffer setbacks because a prideful Party values power over safety of the next generation?

I’m thinking something goldenroddish? I’ve identified 3 varieties here in north Louisiana. Could this be another?

Epstein Birthday Book is Trump’s private Vietnam. What some little boys do when they have no serious purpose in their lives. It’s nauseating like a fancy meal with too many heavy cream and mayonnaise ingredients. Repercussions only felt by those they threw up into.

Louisiana Blueskyers: at the Walgreens pharmacy in Natchitoches and you have to have a doctor’s prescription now even if over 65. Not the workers’ fault. But what’s different now (I’m on my 6th COVID shot) except we have a science-hater in charge of CDC.

I can’t find an earlier source from another year that shows them balancing on sticks. This shows a muskrat on a mound eating plants. This is backwater behind a dam. Natchitoches Parish, LA. It actually doesn’t look like winter.

🌿Found a patch of these odd one leaf plants that appears to me to emanate from a rain drainage from the piny woods. I could not get up the bank to get a sample. The soil is red clay with a thin layer of acid sand on top. Any ideas? I don’t see flowers but it might be past time.

Given his desire for friendships with so called strongmen, it is possible he sees our myriad faces as one to which he brings a million tortured immigrants, a speedboat outside waters of Venezuela & Mother of All Bombs to win praise like a cat brings a lizard to your doormat.

Can’t send you Guardian article but you can look it up on news source. Trump pretending War on Drugs is not a metaphor but a real war.Again, he is trying to destroy due process. Boat should have been apprehended. Only way to know who’s on it & if drugs onboard.A family taking sandwiches to a picnic?

Besides becoming immigration jail central, Louisiana has new ballots that threaten voters with fines and or imprisonment on every side of the mail-in ballot. Check it out.

I love my 1940s Kenmore stove. I know I should get an induction stove but I keep putting it off. It’s a little funky. I bought it over 30 years for $75 from a barn owner and replaced thermostat & switched the burner from the roaster oven. My repairman is almost 90.

Strawberry baskets made in 1930s by cooperators at New Llano, Louisiana, where free thinkers from all walks, places, & even survivors of the NY Haymarket Riot built a colony to provide for their needs. A small museum there. Longest lasting colony in Louisiana promoted education & workers rights.

I think the Trumpist seduction for Democrats is to make a hard stand where we can easily be picked off—we must learn to be fleet of foot in attack and intuit the best cover. So make our lives matter and recover our legacy.

So when Musk destroyed the integrity of the federal government and our personal data, I quit Starlink. You may remember the employee begged me to comeback. For $50 a month I could use the service as “standby.”Now I’m getting pretty much the same offer but for $5 a month. See the screen grab.
