My dad worked with Jim Lovell (presumably on Earth) many years ago and had a few thoughts in reply to a post I made about him.
He’s also had a signed copy of Earthrise on his wall my whole life, and I think that’s one of the coolest things ever.

It's about the dehumanizing effects of overzealous law enforcement and how prioritizing punishment over justice destroys families and lives, including (spoiler alert) that of the enforcer. Probably not relevant to this guy.

I don’t have much to say about it but: I wasn’t prepared to suddenly love bluegrass so much, Johnny Cash is a staple but “I’ve Been Everywhere” is lpart of a multi-year plan to crush it at karaoke, and Eminem surprised me (a lot).

Never trust a guy who doesn't have at least one medium weird hobby. Video games are normal, collecting porcelain dolls is serial killer shit. Medium weird is the goal, like collecting old sound equipment, or hand-making taffy.

How are swappable algos going to work on this app? Are they installed client side, like Winamp skins for the information you’re exposed to? Or do they have to be installed by your instance or something? (I have no idea how the AT protocol works)

Something about SF that you can’t stop noticing once you see it: the utterly unhinged indoor lighting choices. Hue bulbs turning apartments into European nightclub bathrooms. Every building looks like a scrambled Rubik’s cube. The whole city feels like a Piet Mondrian painting.

FYI, the US is able to see an annular eclipse in October 2023 and a solar eclipse in April 2024. The solar eclipse is the last one over the US until 2044. Buy your glasses early and make sure they're genuine!

One invite every two weeks is too few. I have a very narrow window to leverage these things for social clout before people stop caring and it’s slipping away.
