Our multi-campus research team shared preliminary results from our work about the evacuation experiences of transit riders with LA county transportation and emergency management professionals yesterday! Can’t wait to release these findings publicly later this summer

He would always wear a hat that wasn't actually a mortarboard (see picture from my graduation) so hopefully another faculty takes up the "wear a distinctive hat" torch.

We found similar descriptive results when we looked at race and crash victims in Los Angeles for Black victims. Black victims are at higher risk in neighborhoods with higher Black population, but also just most places in the City of LA

Here's a look at revenue service hours at LA Metro from 1994 - 2020. The peak of bus service was 2006 - the last year of the consent decree. No increases in service since the passage of Measures R or M

Thank you to the LA City Council for adjourning today's council meeting in memory of Don Shoup.

As Councilmember Nithya Raman committed to advancing his ideal towards more implementation, I look forward to continuing to see a positive influence of his work in LA (and beyond) for years to come

Why have a queue that doesn't give you an actual estimate of your wait time?

I moved away from Minneapolis in 2006 - when the city was in the middle of the pack of the others, and now they are in the lead!

Seeing this steady growth in housing in the last nearly 20 years demonstrates that change does not happen overnight - it takes continued commitment to growth and change.

Did the darn thing and tried an autonomous ridehail today and selected drop off at one of the UCLA locations you can select from. But that zone didn't actually have a safe drop off spot and was somewhat in the bike lane.

Are any cities with AVs figuring out the curb management for drop offs?
