Stranger in a strange land: Sacramento, California. Serving cats Romana, Riker and Ripley. Geek girl, gamer, book lover, puzzler, amateur bread baker.
There’s a lady here at Kaiser doing meditation probably, deep breathing and she has her bare feet in lotus position, on the chairs. 🤮

Positive thought: This void cat Riker is almost completely void of thought as he stretches out on a heated blankie. I love him so much and wish I could be him. Well fed, loved, cared for, spoiled. So completely at peace with no worries about the world.

Today’s positive thought: My beautiful brown tabby, living and sleeping her best life. I want to be her.

Positive thought: homemade focaccia headed for sandwiches. Something I can control.

Just watched Bambi for the first time, despite having Bambi twin size sheets when I was a kid. I guess they were on sale? Anyway, that movie took a couple dark turns. Are we sure it’s for children? Still have the sheets, btw.

My shame of the day: Being on mic but off camera when I said mew, oh you’re so pretty. To be fair, my cat is so pretty.

Black and white tuxedo kitten Ripley is working on an outline for her debut novel. What do you think it’s about?

My precious Lt. Ripley is my positive thought for today.

Today’s positive vibes: Sleepy cats who love me. My girls do not get along, at all. But I love having them next to me while I work.

Positive thought of the day: Make the cats in your life happy with a motion toy. My three are all captivated by a toy that hangs in the door. My friend recommended it.

Today’s positive thought comes from the sheer joy of books and reading. Got my hands on a custom-bound copy of Jasper Fforde’s The Eyre Affair. He’s my favorite author and I have a whole shelf dedicated to his books. Don’t get me started.

Today’s positive post: Me and the kitten Ripley being lazy together. I’d prefer she cuddled me but at least she’s out of trouble for a change.

I just realized how tense I have felt since I woke up.

So this is your reminder to relax your shoulders, unclench your jaw, and take some deep breaths.

Take care of yourself. Put your own mask on before assisting another passenger.

You can’t have a bad day if you get an English muffin hot out of the oven, split it with a fork and add a little butter or jam or why not both. I made these.

Today’s positivity: My dough baby for English muffins. Look how happy that dough is. Isn’t baking magic?

Today’s positive thought comes from it’s almost the weekend and I have a sweet cat stretched out next to me on her heated blankie. She made a little squeaky happy noise as she made her sleepy stretch and I got a brief pet at that elusive belly. Only to be touched when at sleepy happy times.

Today’s positivity comes from having a home and enough to eat and the privilege to be able to enjoy baking as a hobby and not to survive. I plan to make English muffins this weekend for a friend who just had a baby. (We also are bringing more practical food.)

Today’s round of positive vibes comes from watching two of my cats sleep in my office. They barely tolerate each other, but the warm blankie encourages touching if not snuggles.

I think we all need more positivity in our lives. Please enjoy these pictures of tavern style pizza I whipped up for my spouse and friend. My second time ever making it and now I’m a convert to thin crust if it turns out like this.

Every time I get a kitten, I remember how utterly naughty they are, too late. This one, Ripley, is naughtier than normal. Today she ruined my mother’s 1980s era unicorn click, and she’s not remotely sorry.

I thought my first post here should be about my kitten Ripley. And her toe beans. You’re welcome.
