a few kind listeners who work in bookshops/places that tolerate flyers asked if there's something they can print out and put up to promote the show. The result is below. I would really appreciate anyone who felt like doing this but no pressure at all, ofc. (yes, this is my big year three promo push)

I think it’s worth noting it is utterly VITAL this dead child’s mother cling to her anti-vax beliefs. Because otherwise, if she accepts the fact that vaccinations save lives, that also requires her to accept personal responsibility for the needless death of her child.

She can’t do that.
How firm is the hold of antivax beliefs?

From the parents of the 6 year old unvaccinated child who died of measles:

“Don’t do the shots,” the girl’s mother said. Measles, she added, is “not as bad as they’re making it out to be.” She noted that her four other children all recovered…

That kid’s only played 554’ PL football across 10 games & so far he’s: been booked before making his debut, booked for not sprinting off the pitch quick enough when subbed, wrongly sent off & had PGMOL back the BS decision & now told he can’t celebrate a goal. Utter c*nts the lot of ‘em.

This. If I didn't dislike Spotify for other reasons I'd dislike it because of the number of people who listen to podcasts on it and expect me to do unpaid tech support for Spotify's crappy service, while paying spotify who don't pay me
I switched from Spotify to Tidal a couple of years ago and haven't regretted it at all. Yes, it doesn't have podcasts, but Spotify is paying nothing to podcasts who aren't exclusive to them and PocketCasts exists and is free.
The chart Spotify doesn't want you to see.

November reads - Monica by Clowes, Vernon Subutex by Despentes, and IN the Heart of the Sea by Philbrick were all amazing. Didn't really get on with Didion though - much preferred Eve Babitz.

Of course the real point here is the one Rhiannon Giddens keeps making in the linked article -- back then there *was* no "country music", because "country music" as a genre was created as a marketing tool, basically as a sign that the performers were white.

This is true for all the arts. Make the thing you can make today with the skills you have. Put it out there and make the next thing. And the next.
You will *never* be as good as you want to be. But you get better by doing the work.
To anyone who says “I have to get good enough before I can start my comic”, I have struggled with feeling like a failure most of my adult life. Don’t wait. Make it anyway. A bad thing you put your all into still manages to exist, which is more than one can say for the perfect works in your head
