the thing i took away from the rumour of the habs calling buffalo about thompson wasn't that they're zeroed in on thompson. it means they're not limiting their 2C search to 2Cs. right now, the standings are just to jam packed. a lot of teams have 17 or 18 points. no clear sellers yet.

in kopitar's first game in montreal (1/31/2009), the kings had a 3-2 lead heading into the 3rd period. the habs scored twice, including the winner with 23 seconds left, to complete the comeback.
the kings led 3-1 headed into the 3rd in this one. much different ending.
