Bonus picture of the portion of the house that has been outside my windows for the past 25 years, narrowly squeaking by the telephone pole on the way out.
Half a wooden house, balanced on the back of a pretty fancy flatbed. In front of it, a telephone pole with very little room to spare as it goes past.

I feel the need to post art, even if these two are a bit older! I have been drafting sketches recently of juvenile Dappy, contemplating when silk ties entered his fuzzy little life!
The other image is sporting the kind of attire I was wearing around the age of 4-5. ;) #caberworld

He is trying on a light blue tie decorated with yellow duckies. Other ties hang neatly on the wall in the background. A watercolour illustration of the clothes I used to wear as a child, as won by one of my Caber characters. The clothes are a skivvie of many horizontal stripes of colour, and a pair of denim dungarees. A pair of brown glasses complete this ensemble!

For the visually impaired, it is also known as the Swedish Keyed Fiddle, It has a total of 16 strings - 3 that are the primary ones played, and 1 that is usually the 'drone' string (one note). The remaining 12 are "sympathetic strings" that give the Nyckelharpa its richly resonant sound. It is a little like a cross between a fiddle and a hurdy-gurdy - only it is played with a bow instead of a rosin'd wheel. The "keys" press little plackets against the playable strings, allowing the notes to change. The hurdy gurdy is of a similar era.

I celebrated turning a bit older, by signing up to the gym. I just had to get through the cake trough first. (I love my friends, I do.) Also the dinner trough. And the snack trough (ongoing) Porridge is normally my friend for a filling feed though. :)
A three tiered snacker's delight (chocolates, fruit gums, nuts, cherry tomatoes, peanut pretzels, dates, etc, with lamingtons on the top tier) on a Blue Mountain pottery 3-tiered stand, followed by a cheese platter with grapes, crackers and cheeses, and behind, a beautiful carrot cake in buttercream icing. All perfectly healthy as long as you have enough people to help you eat it!

But yeah, agreed. Sadly, with viewing now being in the hands of the viewer (instead of 'getting what was offered at the time'), it could be a hard road getting a good show like that out there now. (I miss the music ones!)
The 80's New Zealand music show, Shazam! As fronted by a fledgling Phillip Schofield. It features not just music, but interviews as well, prime fodder for the teenage market. On the set of Shazam!, an 80s television show centered around music and interviews with musicians. Hosted by a young Philip Schofield. The set is full of geometric patterns, in bold colours, a signature theme of 80s design.

Open CD case, for "Doubt", an album by the band Jesus Jones. Cover artwork features a stylized wide-eyed babyface with grinning pointed teeth and ears, wearing a bow adorned with question marks on top. CD is a bright orange question mark in a purple field. (Personally, I am this close to trying to describe it in coat-of-arms language!) Album published in 1991. Give it a listen, why not, eh!

Now, in the spirit of fairness, here is my revision run through the same bot.

However, this particular grammar-checking AI bot turns out to have been marking in error.

I thought I was correct, so I CHECKED.

And yet it is being proposed that AI should be used to mark writing.

I rest my criticism.
The text: AI is clearly a challenge for the education system in general. Of course it is a huge opportunity, but insofar as it's a challenge, that may (or might) lead you to ask if 20 percent of final results obtained from external marking sources is sufficient in the current environment. The wording of 20 percent is underlined in red, by the grammar checking bot. The text is the same as described in the previous picture, save for the word "percent" which has been split into per and cent. The word "huge" is underlined in yellow, which, as per the previous post, is regarded as a weak choice of word, by the same bot. This is fine by me, as I was merely correcting the sentence structure of the original quote, also in the previous post. The Grammarist. A site dedicated to grammar. On the subject of Percent (one word) and per cent (two words). The site says: There is no difference between percent and per cent. Choosing between them is simply a matter of preference.

Clearly I am full of salty indignation. And no, I am not an exam marker. But even on making that quote somewhat more readable, the second part still makes NO SENSE in regard to the first.

In honour of the spirit though, here is an "AI marker"

Someone on her high horse has snapshotted a quote from an article on AI and its use in the marking of students' work. The quote is riddled with bad grammar. The rider of the high horse has amended it, to read as follows: AI is clearly a challenge for the education system in general. Of course it is a huge opportunity, but insofar as it's a challenge, that may (or might) lead you to ask if 20 percent of final results obtained from external marking sources is sufficient in the current environment.

I remember watching the televised version of the show as a teen, in New Zealand. Loved it, and Children of the Sky remains one of my favourite songs.

I may not have a cassette player anymore, but recently was delighted to find this tape tucked away, while hunting for something completely different!

Heh, first thing I thought of was this book I have... from 1974.
(Either this was to reach readerships from different ages, or fit into publications, or maybe it was just so they could jam in some clever verse!)
Either way, Rupert Bear was clearly prepared for long form shenanigans, pre-internet. ;)

I appratchettate the thought, but the kiddos have other ideas, related to an earlier game (pictured!) where they managed to deflate an elephant, then somehow (lucky dice) persuaded it to "slither" them all safely across a dangerous desert.

Who knew elephants could be deflated? Kids. That's who.
A fierce elephant rises from the sand dunes of a dangerous desert. It is subsequently attacked by the party, and gets made so flat, that one of the kids wanted to try riding it. It was a great roll, so they all got ferried across the desert by the flattened elephant, who was then successful in making his escape!

Me vs digital. As a little study challenge. Not my favourite medium, (mostly on a tactile/response level) but this time, instead of trying to force the stylus to behave like a RL brush, I leaned into Procreate's other strengths, with lumpy selection shapes on auto-fill and minimal redrawing!
