I hadn't heard that Dale Spender had died. I was thrilled to be able to spend some time with her while she visited Cheris Kramarae at University of Illinois in the 1990s. I especially loved her & her sister Lynne's book of letters, Scribbling Sisters. An important and kind person.

Great news on the legal front for text and data mining in the US: the copyright office just agreed to renew the DMCA exemption we were granted in 2021!

It's far from perfect (as we wrote up for the Data-Sitters Club) but we've got it for 3 more years.
