Punch bowls seem gross and it’s weird they were such a thing, apparently. Theres so many great ways to store a community beverage, who chose the big open bowl and ladle? Literally anything could just fall in. Or be put in maliciously. Just use one of those orange water coolers

BlueSky is great, having an option other than FB/X is great, but now we have ideological reality tunnels diverging even further.
I’m worried that the exodus from Meta and Twitter is what they want. To isolate us from each other.
Isolation is a big part of autocracy. It makes people easier to lie to and abuse.
I don’t have a global answer, but I am working on building a social media space for our podcast listeners.

Blaming Newsom for the fires is basically saying “we have always had fires of this scale at this regularity, but we used to handle them better”. That is plainly untrue. Climate change is causing these crises to increase in regularity and severity, and no one is handling it at all
