I keep thinking how it wouldn't be so easy to weaponize the phrase "terrorist sympathizer" against folks refusing to glowingly memorialize CK, if centrists hadn't stood by (or worse, joined in) every time it was weaponized against people speaking out in support of Palestinian liberation.

While rising political violence is not good, I think it's also important to recognize the extent to which ALL politics is a negotiation over exactly what violence is legitimate (in the sense of the definition of a state as the monopoly on legitimate violence). 1/x

Co-signing all 7 of Daniel's points. I may not have been as loud about it recently, but WoT third season placed it amongst the top tier of genre fiction TV of the decade, right alongside Severance and Andor, and as good or better than any Game of Thrones season. Apple would be a great new home!

It was inspiring to watch Koreans defend their democracy yesterday, but don't look away while Georgians are doing the same - against a police force much less squeamish about violence.
