Last up today and one of the most exciting things on our radar...

Our friends over at the #AnimationObsessive Substack (subscribe!) have broke the news about our work on what was essentially a lost film for a VERY long time, #RoyFromSpace (1983)!

I think you need some Mahna Mahna tonight, so here's a 1971 performance from THE DICK CAVETT SHOW. The Muppet performers were absolute masters of the television frame, skillfully navigating the space to magical effect...

Well it took longer than I’d like. But well, I did it. I have my Ghibli collection!

Not pictured are the collector’s edition of Spirited Away and Totoro, but I have them.

And I now have every book in the Seuss canon!

(To not get myself in trouble this isn’t the full cover)

More additions to the PS5!

The Ghibli collection is finished!

I don’t think I like Gundam fans.

So if anyone is curious on what other PlayStation 5 games I’m looking for, I’m getting to a point where it’s not too overwhelming. What’s left are the follow:

Alan Wake II
Control
Death Stranding: Director’s Cut
Dragon Quest III

Yup FIEVEL GOES WEST still kicks ass.

I must be getting older, because I haven’t been finding any cool finds lately.

But hey, I got some games crossed off of my “oh hey I was told to get these games” list.

Happy news with my collection: the last big pieces I need for my Seuss and Ghibli collection have been bought. Will for sure share when they get here.

Rather than using animated lip flaps, "Heroine Dream" for PS1 makes huge honkin speakers bounce to show you that a character is speaking & I love it for that.

Friends and I saw this unreleased 1931 Mickey Mouse film (La notte insonne di Topolino) earlier today. Probably one of the most baffling film experiences I’ve had in months: I didn’t like it one bit, some friends were baffled and creeped out by it, others were laughing their ass off.

Spend some time with friends revisiting Hamtaro yesterday.

We’re on a mission to watch it all. I hope we do.

A sobering thought: I don’t think I know of a single funny reference or joke relating to Sailor Moon.

If you know one, please tell me. I’m genuinely struggling.

Well I wasn’t expecting to like PRETEAR as much as I do.

This is probably the closest 00s anime ever got to recapturing the magic of Sailor Moon.

I did it!

With this go around, I now owe all the “banned” Dr. Seuss books!

(I have copies of Mulberry already, I wanted a nicer copy. It’s from the late 80s)

John Carmack reminds me of Ub Iwerks. I hope I’m not the only one who thinks this.

Been spending these last few days reading MASTER OF DOOM. Wonderful resource about that era of gaming.

More Dr. Seuss came in today!

Very happy how both look. Whoever had Zebra last even cleaned it up a little bit (and packaged it carefully).

Crap day today. Decided I needed some Seuss books in my life.

New Seuss in the mail today.

Not fond of the copy I got, so stay tuned if I’ll get a replacement. But this one I really like.

We lost Tatsuya Nagime, who I can without lying was one of the giants of 2000s and 2010s anime (directed the Broly movie, various episodes of One Piece, Precure, Doremi). Goes without saying he had a huge impact on many fandoms and contruibted to countless anime that will last forever.

RIP.
