Really looking forward to this tomorrow. Maurice's work is always so fascinating and engaging- marrying the great social and political transformations of the 20th century with the intimate lives of those who have often been marginalised in the Grand Narratives of the past. Please do join us!

When I talk about how the history of progressive/radical movements is tied to a history of intimacy this is what I mean.

Socialism is always both a theory of economic redistribution and a chance to hang out!!

Morris Hillquit, born in Latvia, stood on a platform that included opposition to war, economic redistribution and support for a burning global issue: Irish freedom.

Exciting news! Filming will soon start on a Bad Bridgets film, inspired by Elaine Farrell & Leanne McCormick's great book. We're delighted to have both Elaine & Leanne on our USIHS Committee (for many reasons, this is just today's extra one) @badbridgetbook.bsky.social
